Mountain View Experience Hotel in the Sacred Valley

Mountain View Experience

In the heart of the Sacred Valley, in the tiny and lovely village of Maras, popular for its salt fields, there’s a gorgeous little cabin, where you’ll experiment with peace, calm, and breathtaking scenarios.

The Mountain View Experience is the perfect combination of comfort and nature. This place invites you to have a peaceful retreat in the bustling city. Enjoy the amenities this gamp offers, try delicious Peruvian food, and meet llamas and alpacas.

Where is it Located?

The Mountain View Experience can be found at Maras, in the Sacred Valley, approximately 1.5 hours drive from Cusco. The Maras salt mines are around five minutes distant. As you’ll be at 3,380 meters above sea level, take your measures regarding altitude sickness; believe us when you enjoy the calm and the view from your cabin.

Mountain View Experience Story

This accommodation was possible thanks to their owners,  Maria Garcia and her brother Ronny. Their grandmother left them a piece of land, so they started their project right in the middle of the pandemic. Over time and putting efforts into their initiative, they established themselves as one of Peru's most distinctive lodging options in little time at all.

This resort is extremely mindful of its obligation to the Maras people. Since their culture relies on cooperative contact with the local community, every aspect of your stay will significantly contribute to the well-being of the people who call this place home.

The Cabins

These accommodations are divided into six outdoor lodges, and each lodge is named for specific reasons.

Unu: Related to the element of water, this lodge is named because it's the only one with a jacuzzi.

Chaska: It means "star", reflecting the idea and location of the lodge.

Wayra: Meaning "wind," this name goes beyond its literal translation in the ancestral Inca language. The god "Illapa" is associated with the wind. He allows people to manifest through breezes and gusts. This lodge is named in memory of the owner's late grandfather, who expresses himself through the air.

Muña: This lodge is named not for its color or material, but in honor of an ancestor of the owners who planted muña and mint in the same location.

Ichu: This lodge is named because its roof is made entirely of Ichu fiber, a natural grass abundant in the high Andean region of Peru.

Puka: Meaning "red" in Quechua, this lodge's roof is covered with red clay tiles.

Amenities

Mountain View Experience has six sustainable A-frame cabins, several indoor and outdoor activities with camelids, and a restaurant with a spectacular view. The lodge’s design is simple and minimalistic, but the blending with the decoration and the surroundings makes it appealing. As soon as you get there, you’ll see camelids like llamas, or alpacas, that will welcome you.

You can see the gorgeous valleys and mountains in every direction. This peaceful place will make your special time in Peru and Cusco even more remarkable. The nicest thing is that some of the cabins include alpacas or llamas to feed and hot tubs facing the Andes mountains. The lodges also feature a living area that can fit one or two people, a stunning view, and a stylish bathroom with a shower and a window that views the night sky.
