Treehouse Lodge in Loreto, Peru

Treehouse Lodge in Loreto, Peru

One of the things that kids want is to have their own tree house, to play, and to have lots of fun with their friends. Well, in Peru, to be exact, in the Peruvian Amazon, right in the middle of the jungle, there is a distinctive lodge in a tree: The Treehouse Lodge Loreto. This treehouse Lodge Loreto features 12 three-bedroom houses; it's the only all-inclusive treehouse accommodation in the middle of the Amazon that offers an unforgettable experience.

This distinctive lodge is tucked away in the Yarapa River, a tributary to the Amazon River, in Loreto's local village. From the treetop canopy, you have an entirely new perspective on the jungle that most people never get to see. When you wake up, you‘ll feel like you are on a safari: You can have the experience of watching monkeys, birds, and other creatures.

Inside the cabins

This lodge is on the tree's side, it offers accommodation that lets you maximize your experience. Each cabin is built at a height that puts you in tune with nature. They offer stunning views of the jungle that extend as far as the eye can see. Not only are you housed in the jungle, but you become an integral part of it.

Each cabin at Treehouse Lodge is a feat of sustainable architecture. The rooms, built with local materials and eco-friendly techniques, offer modern amenities in the middle of nature. Imagine relaxing on your own private terrace, surrounded by trees and the sounds of the jungle. The cabins are designed to provide the largest possible comfort as you connect with nature in its purest state.

Each cottage has a toilet, a sink, a shower, and fresh white sheets. The trek up to your bungalow may provide some extra workouts, but you'll be glad you made the effort after trying the delicious meals prepared by the staff.

Meals & Drinks

Three meals are provided by this lodge each day, and they're served in the communal areas. Every meal is prepared by skilled chefs and has an amazing look. Individuals with special dietary needs can inform the staff of them. If you have a trip or trek, don’t worry, you'll be provided a packaged meal.

The appliances of the kitchen are state of the art, the eating area has ceiling fans to keep the ambiance cool from heat and humidity, and the chairs and table are covered in mosquito netting. Keep in mind that some drinks have an extra price, but you can have unlimited water and juice. Drinking water has a purification system.

Common Areas

There are two ways to get to the lodge: by land and by river. If the water level is suitable, you’ll be taking a boat ride to get to your accommodation. The main lodge is a remarkable and strong structure set within the rainforest.

Constructed from thirty-six massive ironwood beams, the treehouse hotel is so massive and strong that it sticks out a little bit into the lake. After each beam was hauled out of the water, it took fourteen workers to raise it into position. From the bottom floor, one can see the top of the roof, which reaches a height of almost forty feet.

Safety

The lodge is totally safe; an American engineer designed the steps, cable bridges, three houses, and the main lodge. Several steel wires that are suspended from branches above, connected to the tree, and fastened to the ground support the treehouses.

Every year, tweaks and inspections are carried out to maintain the lodge's security.  Mosquito mesh surrounds the main lodge and each treehouse, and to improve your sleep, an extra layer is placed over your bed and tucked beneath your mattress.

An experienced guide will accompany you all the time when trekking or strolling through the forest. You are free to explore the rainforest but proceed with caution.  To ensure your safety from the flora and fauna on the jungle floor, you will only be able to navigate around the lodge via elevated wooden platforms or cable bridges.

You will find a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, walkie-talkies, and a way to get in touch with the main lodge. Food is kept in solar-powered refrigerators or freezers that are also powered by generators. The lodge's whole electrical system, including fans, lighting, refrigeration, and communication, is powered by solar energy.
