According to information released by Peru's Ministry of Culture, the approaching high season would cause daily attendance at the ancient fortress to increase from 4500 to a maximum of 5600 visitors. This implies that there will be more than 1000 additional tickets available starting today, making entry to Machu Picchu easier.
Considering high season in Peru extends from June until mid-October and New Year's Eve and New Year, and along with the news of more than one thousand extra visitors, the government issued an order stating that from June 1st new Machu Picchu Circuits will be available to those who plan to visit the Inca City.
Consequently, the same official order claimed that a new website would be launched to purchase tickets to the new circuits. As of May 21st, there is no additional information available on the homepage; nevertheless, the Ministry of Culture has provided us with the chart below, which explains the new June access to Machu Picchu:

As You see, these measures will make the entrance to Machu Picchu easier for visitors worldwide. These measures will be taken to improve travelers' experience during peak season. The entry time for each circuit is often listed on your Machu Picchu entry ticket. Normally, in the low season, you have a maximum of 30 minutes to enter the citadel. However, from June you’ll have 45 minutes during the peak season to get into the Citadel.
After this time, unless there are properly documented cases of unforeseen circumstances or coincidental events, visitors are not permitted to enter the Machu Picchu Citadel. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more about these changes.
