Machu Picchu: Discount for University Students

Machu Picchu: Discount for University Students

Should I Book my tickets with ISIC or University ID?

University students worldwide can access a discount on tickets to enter Machu Picchu (Machu Picchu Ticket) by booking with a valid university card issued by a University or Institute. It is important to note that the ISIC card (International Student Identity Card) is no longer considered a valid document to buy a ticket with a student discount. Currently, the university ID is the only valid document to buy tickets to Machu Picchu.

How can I book the Machu Picchu Ticket with my university ID?

The only way to buy entrance tickets to Machu Picchu with a student discount is through an authorized travel agency. This is because the Machu Picchu official website does not allow the purchase with the student discount. Consider that Viagens Machu Picchu can help you with that.

To purchase the Machu Picchu entrance ticket with the student discount, follow these steps:

• Visit the website of an authorized travel agency to buy the Machu Picchu entrance ticket with a university discount online.

• Fill out the reservation form with the student's personal information.

• Send an email with a copy or digital photo of the valid university ID.

• Make the payment for the Machu Picchu ticket with the student discount.

• Receive and print the tickets and show them along with your passport or identity document.

Requirements for the University ID

The university ID must meet the following requirements to be accepted; otherwise, it will not be possible to book the “student ticket” either online or in person in Cusco City:

• Original ID issued by the student's university.

• Student's full name.

• University name.

• Valid expiration date.

• Legible photo.

Machupicchu Solo Ticket Price:

University students under 25 years old and enrolled in undergraduate programs pay 77 soles for the 'Machupicchu Solo' entry, which is the most commonly used by visitors.

• Students from Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, or Bolivia pay 32 soles.

Other Notes:

• Unfortunately, students do not receive discounts on the train or final bus tickets to the archaeological site.

• University Students do not receive discounts on Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain.

•  However, there are discounts available for university students on the Cusco Tourist Ticket, which provides access to the main tourist attractions in Cusco.

Other Requirements

These are some additional requirements that the student must meet when purchasing the Machu Picchu Ticket with the corresponding discount:

• Be an undergraduate student.

• Be under 25 years old at the time of the visit to Machu Picchu.

• Present an identity document or passport.
