In the highlands of Huaraz, often called the “Peruvian Switzerland” or “Peru’s capital trek”, to be exact 8 kilometers from the city center, at an elevation of 3,820 meters above sea level, you’ll find Andes Domos, a sustainable and eco-friendly three-dome complex that promises to be the perfect retreat from the bustling big city
Andes Domos is the perfect retreat to spend quality time with friends or family, thanks to its cozy and friendly environment, it’s literally on the top of a hill. This dome also provides the best views of “La Cordillera Blanca”, or White Mountain Range, a mountain area part of the famous Andes Mountains range. At night, seeing so close the starry sky is priceless. So, let’s briefly explore what this lodge provides.
You’ll see three types of glamping; the first one is the group glamping, which offers five beds. The triple room offers three beds, and finally, there’s the double room, which is suitable for a couple. They all offer one of the best views that a glamping dome may offer.
The bathrooms and the kitchen are shared, offering security as these domes are located in an isolated area. The outdoor breakfast is incredible: While eating the varied and delicious breakfast that Andes Domos offers, take some fresh air and have panoramic views of Huaraz.
Near Andes Domos is Radian Lagoon, the walking time from the last village is one hour. Or you can hike to the Mullaca and Carhuac lagoons or finish the path to the Paso del Zorro on full days from this position.
Explore the City Center: Huaraz Downtown is full of magical places to see and discover. The Cathedral, Plaza de Armas and the sightseeing are some of the few places you can’t miss.
Visit at least one lagoon: “La Cordillera Blanca” is full of breathtaking views and attractions, such as its lagoons. Wilcacocha, Churup, and Paon are some examples of this. We have the best for the end, as Laguna 69 is perhaps the best lagoon in the area.
Challenge the Huascaran: With a maximum elevation of 6,768 meters above sea level, Huascaran Mountain is the highest peak in Peru. The Huascarán National Park is home to 27 more peaks that rise above 6,000 meters. Because of this, this national park is referred to as having the world's highest tropical mountain range.
The best trekking options, ranging in intensity from medium to tough, are found in the park. If you're up for the experience, though, you should be ready to tackle the height above everything else in addition to the physically taxing action.
