Weather in Lima

Lima is the world’s second driest capital. Although its weather is predominantly humid, this region is highly affected by the Humboldt current and the Andes mountain range, which causes a rain shadow effect preventing rain clouds formation in this particular region. However, Lima has two well-marked seasons throughout the year:

- Summer: It starts in December and ends in April, these are the warmest months of the year. Bright and sunny days are expected during this period, as well as beautiful sunsets. Temperatures can increase up to 30°C.
- Winter: It takes place between June and October, temperatures range between 12°C and 18°C during this season. Although the chances of rain are nearly nil in this region, these are the wettest months of the year due to the high level of humidity.

The weather in Peru can be quite tricky since it varies according to the different regions of the country. If you wish to learn more check our blog about the best time to visit Peru.
