TRIP ITINERARY

  • day 1

    Arrival in Lima - Transfer to the Hotel.

    Our team will be waiting for you at Lima’s airport to take you to the hotel. After checking in, you will have a detailed explanation of the day-to-day itinerary, as well as receive information on what to do nearby, restaurants, shops, and more.

    We highly recommend taking some time to rest so you can experience Lima at its fullest. Don’t miss the chance to try the famous Peruvian gastronomy and visit its beautiful neighborhoods.

    Modern and Colonial City Tour in Lima | Lima to Huaraz

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    What better way to explore Lima’s colonial town than by taking a guided tour with a local expert. The Historic Center of Lima was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991 since it comprises over 600 historical monuments from the Colonial era.

    At night, we’ll pick you up to take you from the hotel to the bus terminal, where you’ll board a comfortable tourist bus bound for Huaraz City. This will be a first-class bus ride with semi-bed seats.

    Important Note: On this day, we’ll include a day use at the hotel so you can return from the morning city tour and continue using the accommodation’s facilities before heading to Huaraz.

    Quick Tip: Huaraz is located at 3,052 meters above sea level. If you'd like, you could take the first day off to acclimate your body. If so, please contact our travel agents.

  • day 3

    Huaraz | Laguna Paron Trek.

    Upon arrival in Huaraz, our team will take you to the hotel where you’ll try the famous Coca tea, known for helping with any altitude sickness symptoms. Later, we’ll be departing at 08:30 a.m. towards the city of Caraz, the starting point of our adventure to Laguna Paron.

    Once we reach Laguna Paron, we’ll have some free time to take some pictures, walk, and enjoy this natural wonder. Afterwards, we’ll head towards the city of Huaraz so you can have a well-deserved rest.

  • day 4

    Llanganuco Lakes & Lagoon 69 Trek

    On this day, our departure will be as early as 05:00 a.m. heading north from Huaraz towards Cebollapampa town, which will be our starting point for the Lagoon 69 trek

    Later, we’ll continue to the Llanganuco Lakes, another turquoise water body also located within the Huascaran National Park. Optional boat rides are available, ask your tour guide.

  • day 5

    Nevado Pastoruri Tour | Huaraz to Lima

    Breakfast at the Hotel.

    After breakfast, we’ll start our next adventure in the Nevado Pastoruri. This incredible mountain has an altitude of 5,240 meters and is located within the Cordillera Blanca.

    After lunch, you’ll have some free time to enjoy the landscapes and walk around. Later, we’ll return to Huaraz so you can rest or stroll around before taking the bus to Lima.

    You’ll depart in the evening on a comfortable tourist bus with onboard service, bound for Lima.

    Flight from Lima to Cusco

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Our team will take you to Lima International Airport in time for your check-in and flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, our team will take you to the hotel where you’ll try the famous Coca tea, known for helping with any altitude sickness symptoms. After checking in at the hotel, our team will explain all the sights with a city map, also indicating restaurants, exchange offices, shops, and more. 

    Important Note: Cusco is located at 3,400 meters above sea level. Therefore, we highly recommend you take a few hours to get used to the altitude before exploring the city of Cusco.

    Optional Visit: The Qosqo Center of Native Arts has daily presentations of typical Andean music and dances from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We recommend you arrive 45 minutes in advance. Tickets are already included in the package.

  • day 7

    Archaeological City Tour in Cusco.

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Enjoy the different sightings within the historic center of Cusco with our local guide. (Exclusive tour available for Viagens Machu Picchu passengers only).


    We will begin the Archaeological City Tour in the afternoon, visiting several monuments such as Sacsayhuaman, the Qoricancha Temple, Q'enqo, and more.

    Optional Visit: The Qosqo Center of Native Arts has daily presentations of typical Andean music and dances from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We recommend you arrive 45 minutes in advance. Tickets are already included in the package.

  • day 8

    Sacred Valley of the Incas - Aguas Calientes.

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    On this day, we’ll depart in the morning for the Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour. We will make our first stop to visit the Awanacancha Traditional Textile Museum, just after enjoying the magnificent view of the Sacred Valley. 

    Following the itinerary, we’ll continue to visit Pisac, a small town recognized for its authentic cultural expression and the outstanding Pisac Archeological site. Later, we’ll have lunch in Urubamba, located right at the heart of the Sacred Valley. 

    Finishing the tour, we’ll get to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll visit one of the oldest villages within the valley and its towering archeological site. After exploring the town of Ollantaytambo, We’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, a small village located in the middle of the mountains of the Peruvian jungle, surrounded by an impressive natural setting.

    Machu Picchu Private Guided Tour - Cusco

    The wait is finally over, now it’s time to live the dream! Our team will take you from the hotel to board the bus to Machu Picchu. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu’s main entrance. 

    Our professional guide will provide all the details about this wonder, including the mysteries and fascinating facts of the Inca culture. After our time in Machu Picchu, we’ll go back to Aguas Calientes to return to Cusco by train.

    Rainbow Mountain Trek (Meals Included)

    Our adventure will begin very early in the morning! We’ll be crossing the Southern Valley towards the famous Rainbow Mountain. It is located at 5,200 meters above sea level, which is why we'll take this walk slowly and cautiously.

    It takes up to 2 hours to complete the Rainbow Mountain Trek on the way up though it will totally depend on your physical condition. Make sure to follow our recommendations before the start of the trek! 

    If you wish you can rent a horse but you will have to walk the last 15 minutes to the top, keep in mind that this is not included in the package. Once on the summit, we’ll have about 1 hour to enjoy this natural wonder.

   - Cancellations due to poor weather conditions are non-refundable, as these are factors beyond our control.

2. Is the Machu Picchu ticket refundable if my trip is canceled?
   - No, according to the latest updates from the Ministry of Culture, Machu Picchu tickets are final sales. They cannot be rescheduled, or transferred to another date or person, nor are they refundable.

3. Where can I leave my larger luggage during the trip to Machu Picchu?
   - It is recommended to bring only a small backpack to Machu Picchu, as the train operator limits baggage to 5 kg per person. Larger luggage can be safely stored in your hotel’s storage in Cusco.

4. Can I choose seats on the trains?
   - No, PeruRail assigns seats automatically, with no option for seat selection.

5. Which train is better for Machu Picchu: Expedition or Vistadome?
   - We recommend taking the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes and the Vistadome on the return. Vistadome provides panoramic windows and onboard entertainment, ideal for the daytime return journey.
