In the afternoon, we begin the Archaeological City Tour, starting with Qoricancha, known as the “Golden Wall” or Temple of the Sun. Once the most important shrine dedicated to Inti, the Sun God, this temple was the spiritual heart of the Inca Empire and a key place of worship. The tour then continues to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, renowned for its massive stone walls and for serving as the stage of Inti Raymi, the Festival of the Sun. We also visit Qenqo, a ceremonial site associated with mystical rituals, followed by Puka Pukara, which functioned as a military checkpoint and control post. The last stop is Tambomachay, often referred to as the “Inca Baths,” where crystalline waters still flow through canals and fountains that date back to Inca times.
Before concluding the tour, we stop at a special location where visitors can spend time with llamas and alpacas while also browsing a variety of locally crafted products. Our return to Cusco is scheduled for around 6:00 PM, and upon arrival, you may choose to be dropped off either at your hotel or at the city’s main square.
